Prior to any breeding, the pedigrees are studied, to ensure genetic integrity to the best of my ability. All the Pomeranians that are used for breeding, have been tested and have OFA certificates for patellas. Some have OFA certificates for Perthes, Hip Dysplasia and normal Thyroid levels.
The Pomeranian breed, as in all breeds of dogs, has glitches. The greatest dilemma facing all breeders is the Black Skin Disease or Alopecia X. It has probably been in our pedigrees since the early 1900’s. Here at Pomdell, I am studying, researching and very selective breeding, striving to avoid this heart break that plagues the Pomeranian owners.
Pomdell offers a very good health guarantee, covering genetic problems on all puppies. But, at this time I cannot be responsible for hormone imbalance problems that have been associated with the breed for many years. All Pomdell puppies are Vet checked and have received their second shots before going to their new homes. The Poms all have Micro Chips installed, full health records and Puppy Care kits. Puppy Insurance vouchers accompany each puppy, which will be in effect for six weeks from possession day, at no cost to the new owner.
CKC registration papers for each puppy will be forwarded to the new owner, again, at no extra cost.
Pet/companion puppies are sold with Spay/Neuter contracts, but more mature animals are already spayed or neutered before they leave Pomdell.
I am a Senior Citizen, who spends most of my waking hours with my dogs, but mostly as a group. So it is very rewarding to know that a puppy is going to a home where it will be able to enjoy more individual attention.
